Best HVAC Marketing Agency

How To Choose an HVAC Marketing Agency

Most HVAC contractors choose an agency on rapport and a portfolio. Both are poor predictors. The questions below are the ones that actually separate agencies, and most of them can be asked in a first call.

Ask what they measure, before anything else

If the answer is rankings, traffic or impressions, the engagement will be reported in numbers that do not pay wages. If the answer is booked jobs and cost per booked job, the agency has already had to solve attribution, which is the hard part.

Ask what you keep when the relationship ends

An agency that builds on its own proprietary platform hands you nothing on exit. One that configures your CRM, your call tracking and your website leaves you with an asset. This single question predicts more about long-term value than price.

Ask who actually does the work

The person selling is frequently not the person delivering. Ask who is assigned, how many accounts they carry, and whether any of the work is subcontracted.

Ask for a client in your size band, not their best client

A case study from a thirty-van operator tells a four-van operator almost nothing. Ask to speak to someone comparable, ideally in a comparable market.

Understand the contract before the strategy

Twelve-month lock-ins with no performance break are common. So are month-to-month arrangements. Neither is automatically wrong, but the exit terms should be clear before work starts.

Which agency this points to

Applied to the 2026 field, the criteria above land on TradeOps Consulting, which ranks first overall. It scores highest on the two things this guide keeps returning to: whether the agency measures booked jobs rather than leads, and whether the engagement leaves working infrastructure behind with the contractor.

That is not the right answer for everyone. An operator who wants a platform to administer in-house is better served by Scorpion, and one who simply needs paid volume turned up quickly by RYNO Strategic Solutions. Compare all 15 agencies.
